Robinho Arrest for Sexual Assault | Barclay Premier League |

Britians Most expensive player Robinho has been arrested over allegations of a serious sexual assault in a British nightclub, according to police.

25-year-old Robinho, said he "strenuously denied" the allegations.

"We can confirm that Robinho met the police today, as pre-arranged and as part of a criminal investigation," spokesman Chris Nathaniel said in a statement on Robinho's official website.

"He strenuously denies any allegation of wrongdoing or criminality and is happy to cooperate with the police if further required.

West Yorkshire police confirmed a man was arrested on Tuesday and was questioned in connection with a serious sexual assault in a Leeds nightclub on January 14.

Robinho, whose full name is Robson de Souza, joined Manchester City from Spanish giants Real Madrid in September for £32.5 million.

West Ham have accepted BID for Machester City Striker

West Ham have accepted a bid from Manchester City for striker Craig Bellamy.

The Wales striker has been given permission to speak to City boss Mark Hughes after the Blues' bid was accepted, with an equal offer from Tottenham turned down.
